ASSESSMENT OF TRANSFER CREDITS
Assessment of Transfer Credits/Application for Degree
All applicants to either the B. Ed. program or the A.
B. Ed. program MUST make application to transfer credits
into their chosen program.
APPLICATION TIMING AND COST
- Applicants who choose to register for the degree program
prior to submitting their application for assessment
will receive their assessment within 14 days of submission.
There will be no cost of assessment of those registering
and paying in full prior to assessment.
- Applicants who choose to undergo the assessment
process prior to registration will receive their assessment
within 14 days of submission. A non-refundable fee of
$250. US will apply and must be paid prior to submission
of assessment.
ASSESSMENT PROCESS
- Applicant must submit a detailed application to
ensure maximum credit be considered. It is the responsibility
of the applicant to present the transferring credits
in a manner which supports the applicant's request
to the examiner. The examiner will assessment the material
in hope of supporting the transfer request but it
is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure all
material is accurate, detailed and supported in order
for the examiner to make a positive decision. In cases
of uncertainty the examiner will request further information
or supportive material from the applicant.
- The examiner will within the timeframe allotted
respond by confirming the total transfer credits accepted,
the categories of transfer acceptance and the total credits
required to graduate. The examiner will also recommend
a program of study in order that the applicant may graduate in the shortest
time possible.
- The applicant will then confirm receipt of this
assessment and then commit to a study program, either
as recommended or propose an alternatively accepted program
of study.
- The applicant will then proceed to complete registration,
if not already done and undertake the program.
- The applicant has 2 years ( 18 months for A .B.
Ed.) from the date of the assessment completion to complete
the degree program unless otherwise agreed to by the examiner.
The following details the degree program requirements
and the information required by International TESOL in
order to assess the transfer credits and recommend the
program content.
Applicants are required to submit in detail their application
for transfer credit in such a way as to provide the examiner
full information in order to make the appropriate decisions.

BASIS OF ASSESSMENT - Content of Program
Bachelor of Education, EFL Total 400 credits required
PART A Transferable Credits (max. 200) from outside International
TESOL program.
All transfer credits must be verifiable.
MAXIMUM TRANSFER CREDITS ALLOWED FOR B.ED. PROGRAM IS
340
A maximum of 180 credits may be transferred to the ITC B. Ed. program from
any post high school university, college or institute of higher education. Transferred
credits may be from the following disciplines.
- Social Sciences
(anthropology, sociology, history,
geography, , psychology, philosophy, law, teacher education)
- Life Sciences
(biology, ecology, earth sciences, anatomy)
- Sciences
(mathematics, physics, chemistry)
- Business, Finance
(accounting, finance, economics,
business, marketing)
Information required:
When requesting transfer credit in this category the
applicant must submit the following information for each
course transfer credit is requested for.
ASSESSMENT Information required
- Institution name, location and duration of course
- Course number and brief summary of course content.
- Number of credit hours awarded by institution and
mark received.
- Number of credits requested for the experience.
- Web site of institution
2) Non-formal education and experiences (maximum 260
credits)
A maximum of 160 credits may be awarded based on informal
education courses and/or real life experiences associated
in the field
of international education.
International TESOL training ( maximum 100)
Transfer credits may be awarded for International TESOL
or training of other TESOL providers taken prior to registration.
Informal Education (maximum 50)
A maximum of 50 credits may be awarded based on informal
education courses.
Real Life Experiences (maximum 50)
Transfer credits may be given for real life experiences associated
with field of national international education.
Overseas teaching experience (maximum 40)
Transfer credits may be given for previous overseas teaching
experience. In some cases transfer credit may be given
for domestic teaching experience.
50% of practice teaching may be credited from verifiable
practice teaching done prior to enrolling in ITC program

experience transfer credit is requested for:
- name or category of experience
- Location and duration of experience
- Five important educational aspects of the experience
- Contribution these experiences made to personal
or professional development as a teacher or otherwise.
- Number of credits requested for the experience.
Associate Bachelor of Education, EFL Total credits 200
required
MAXIMUM TRANSFER CREDITS ALLOWED FOR A. B.ED.
PROGRAM IS 160
A maximum of 80 credits may be transferred to the ITC B.
Ed. program from any post- high school university, college
or institute of higher education. Transferred credits may
