International Bachelor of Education,
Combined Honors Program

What is the Combined Honours Program?

This unique program allows participants to be trained and certified as English. Teachers (E.F.L -English as a foreign language) while combining T.E.S.O.L: studies with studies from the Faculty of International Studies and Technology. International Bachelor of Education, Combined Honors Program.

Candidates for the combined Honors Program will be those who are seeking employment or service internationally, and would like the advantage of double qualifications- in teaching E.F.L. and as International Professionals in their own discipline or domain.

Graduates from the combined Honors Program will not only have achieved training and certification as E.F.L. Teachers, but will be able to capitalize on previous education and training in their own professional or technical discipline.

Graduates will clearly have a strong competitive advance in attaining international employment or service positions, and will be prepared to successfully undertake positions that require either or both concentrations.

Application of the Bachelor of Education-Combined Honors

Following achieving the Bachelor of Education, a graduate might accept two international positions- one as E.F.L. Teacher at a Language School or Institute, and the other in their own professional discipline or domain- for example- laboratory technician, human resources, environmental technology, tourism, industry and manufacturing, etc.

As a second alternative, the graduate would also be seen as a highly attractive candidate for an organization that requires a skilled teacher and a skilled professional or technician. Clearly this would be a tremendous asset for those who wish to teach in their professional or technical field internationally.

Another option would be for the graduate to be able to earn an income as an E.F.L. Teacher while participating in an unpaid position of personal or professional interest – such as an unpaid professional internship, or a volunteer service position.

In short, the Combined Honors program opens a whole new world for those wishing to combine strong teaching skills with the knowledge and skills of their professional or technical training, in an international context.
